History of Marlborough, told through photographs



The newest addition to popular series of Images of America Arcadia Publishing is Marlborough of authors Emily Amodeo, Joanne Sagarese Pagnotta and James B. Cosgrove for Marlboro free library. The book offers more than 200 pictures vintage and memories of bygone days.

In Marlborough, readers discover the city that served as an inspiration for Alfred H. Maurer and George Inness, members of the mid-19th-century Hudson River School of Art and was called back by the famous typographer Frederic Goudy from 1924 until his death in 1947. Emily Amodeo and Joanne Sagarese Pagnotta are researchers of local history for the Marlboro free library. Emily received her Bachelor of arts in English from Mount Saint Mary College. Joanne received the degree of his partner of SUNY Alfred. James B. Cosgrove, Director of the free library of Marlboro, received his Bachelor of arts at the University of Hartford and his master's degree in library science at SUNY Albany.
